Vision and Values

School Vision

At Speen we are a community that grows through our thirst for knowledge. We are all unique and together we flourish. From the roots of God’s love for the world, our families and our community we strive to be caring, courageous, responsible, honest and respectful in all we do.

School Values

Each value has it's own focus throughout the year in addition to being part of everyday life at Speen.

British Values

At Speen School, we promote the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance through all aspects of school life.

Democracy
Pupils experience democracy first-hand by voting for representatives on the School Council and Eco Council. These groups meet regularly and lead change across the school, including supporting local charities.

The Rule of Law
Children learn the importance of rules in keeping everyone safe. Our clear and consistent expectations help pupils understand responsibility and fairness.

Individual Liberty
We encourage pupils to express their views, make choices, and grow in confidence. Opportunities such as leading assemblies help children develop independence and a sense of responsibility.

Mutual Respect and Tolerance
We promote respect for all through our curriculum and wider experiences. Visitors from different faiths, including a mosque and synagogue, help deepen understanding. Our weekly Picture News assembly explores current events and is shared with families to encourage discussion at home.

Through these opportunities, we support children to become respectful, thoughtful and active members of society.
